May News!

I’ve always been a believer in the old racing adage “horses for courses”! Never was this demonstrated so perfectly this month. Symbol of Hope gave us the best possible start with an all the way win at his beloved Bath winning unchallenged under Ray Dawson. Two weeks later a carbon copy, winning again in fine style drawing clear having made all and of course at Bath! This was his fifth win on the track for us and I must give a mention to Lisa who looks after him and walks him to the start and keeps a lid on him. Lisa’s really grateful Symbol isn’t a miler!! In between these wins Connie’s Rose returned to her favourite track Chepstow to record her third win at the course given a great ride from Callum Hutchinson. The Cola Kid ran a very encouraging fourth in the same race aa Symbol of Hope ant bath and hopefully will reward owner Sue with a win in the near future. Connie’s has run nine times at Chepstow not only winning three but also a creditable second and four times finishing third. The only time she didn’t make the frame she finished sixth but was only beaten two lengths by the winner. Halifax once again ran a fine race this time at Warwick when coming second to a decent type who is now on a hat-trick. Considering the bad mistake he made early on Halifax recovered well to challenge after three out and stayed on well for the runners up slot. We started the month with a winner and it ended with when Justshortofabubble finished third at Newton Abbot having his second only chase run. Although well beaten distance wisehe showed us something to work with and once his jumping becomes less novicey then I’m optimistic that he will pay his way over the next few months. It’s always lovely to report new additions to the GHR stables. Postergal is a nice 3yo filly as is Sexy Rexy who won her last race before joining us. Both horses were purchased at the Tattersalls HIT sales early in May. Also, yet another 3yo filly joins us from Ireland where she won a decent maiden at Dundalk, Dynamite Katie comes with an Irish handicap mark of 78 so she’s one that we look forward to seeing run in June. Take care everyone! BACK TO BLOG
