August 2023 news…
Our good year continues(thankfully) and it was fantastic to see so many of our friends and Owners at GHR’s Open Day. I think and hope everyone enjoyed their time with us. A big thank you to our fabulous team here who worked so hard to ensure the day went smoothly and was such a success.
It’s always pleasing to get a winner but even more so when the winners are spread around our loyal Owners. Justshortofabubble lost his maiden tag after some promising runs and won well for Deb Lawton and my Mum at Stratford. He deserved that win and ran another decent race at Worcester later in the month when a staying on second. As expected, ‘Bubbles’ has risen in the weights as a result of his good runs so life will be a bit harder for him. I said last month that Thewaytothestars was down to a winning mark and so it proved to be with back-to-back wins for Owners Scobie and Candy Davies at Ffos Las and Windsor. Despite going up 11 pounds for the two wins the filly ran another fine race later in the month when third beaten a length at Chepstow. Symbol of Hope had two very good runs at Bath, the first run when second, this turned out to be a decent race as the third Apache Star has subsequently won. Then five days later Symbol was second again just touched off by half a length. Ladypacksapunch continues to run consistently and I’m sure that one day everything will fall right for her and she will get her head in front. Don’t discount The Cola Kid in the next couple of months and Sexy Rexy is on the right mark. Always nice to close on more good news with another new recruit to the stable. Red Rocks Lady is an unraced 3yo filly by Kayf Tara and we are excited to see her run for Owner Mel Mathias.
Take care everyone.
