Our best ever year ended with a disappointing month although there were a couple of very good performances which should ensure we start 2024 in the winner’s enclosure! I thought Sistersinthesky was going to win at Wolverhampton when he led inside the last furlong but found one too good. He’s a pound higher now in the handicap but I think it’s a winnable mark. In the same ownership of Paul and Ann de Weck Say Grace finished very well to take third close home, again at Wolverhampton and she’s one to put in your tracker!

We ended the year on 21 winners which is just amazing and I’m so grateful for the support and loyalty of all our Owners and it’s so good to see them rewarded with some memorable days. A further 63 runs produced placed horses so in total 84 of all our runners finished in the first four, that’s 37% overall. That would be a good percentage in any given month but to achieve it over an entire year just shows how consistent the horses have been during 2023. I couldn’t have done this without a group of incredible people here at GHR. Everyone knows how hard it is to get good staff because it’s hard work and in all weathers, but I’ve been so fortunate to have such a great team with a wonderful work ethic, so a massive thank you to you all.
