February News…

February News!

In the blog last month I highlighted My Girl Katie was now qualified for a handicap mark and would give her owners a lot of fun. So it proved to be when making her handicap debut at Newbury finishing a very good second to a well treated winner.

Katie is a lovely mare and with an unchanged rating is sure to be competitive in the months to come. Racing Club horse Karakoram ran another fine race at Taunton and despite an unusual blunder early on stayed on in customary style to finish fourth just over four lengths behind the winner. The stable star this month has to be Halifax who recently joined us and made his stable debut at Market Rasen running a very encouraging second. Halifax went one better later in the month at Exeter when he broke his maiden tag with a determined win under another good ride from Conor Ring.

I always find this time of year exciting with the stable favourites returning after their winter break. It's interesting to see how they have wintered and developed during their 'holiday'. Coming back in this month were Connie's Rose, Soldier's Son, The Cola Kid, Symbol of Hope and Wise Glory. I hope they each have a great flat campaign and reward their owners with a lot of fun days racing a win or two along the way!

I'm also pleased to say we have another addition to the stable when we purchased The Midwife on behalf of Foxhills Racing. The Midwife won it's only race in Ireland in good style over Punchestown's point to point course so we are looking forward to seeing her on a racecourse soon.

Take care everyone!
