March News!

In a month dominated by the performances of Constitution Hill and the wonderful Honeysuckle we started March at Taunton with Moscow Spy running a much better race until unfortunately coming down at the second last.  While that was obviously disappointing it did at least give us some hope for the future.

Then off to Wolverhampton where Ladypacksapunch ran really well and although only fifth, was only beaten less than two lengths and is another who can win a race soon.

The Racing Club's Karakoram continues to be a stable legend. He had another busy month giving Club members plenty of fun, excitement and yet another success! 'Kenny' went to Ffos Las and ran a creditable race finishing fourth, we then took the decision to try running him over 3 miles. Jockey Joe Anderson was confident that Kenny would stay and so it proved to be. Staying on determinedly at Taunton to lead close home and win by a neck. This was his fifth win for us and we hoped for a follow-up win at Chepstow but the 7lb penalty found him out. Sadly he was put up 6lbs for his neck win and so realistically it's going to be tougher for him in the future but i'm sure he will keep running his heart out for us.

Also at Taunton Justshortofabubble ran well again finishing third. We seemed to have spent most of March at Taunton and back there again My Girl Katie was beaten a neck and a short head in a thrilling finish.

It's always an exciting time at the stables when we get a new horse and we are grateful to long standing owners Paul and Ann de Weck for sending new purchase Sisters in the Sky to GHR and we look forward to seeing how this lovely gelding progresses in the next few months. Our flat turf season starts at Bath on Good Friday and hopefully a good Spring/Summer to look forward to.

Take care everyone!
