September News…
September News. The month started with the first four of our runners finishing third. Connie’s Rose and Justshortofabubble both ran nicely in their respective races at Salisbury and Worcester. Sexy Rexy was beaten less than a length at Wolverhampton and looks like one to follow on the current mark. The Cola Kid came so close to winning again when touched off by two heads at Windsor running a lovely race. Halifax broke our run of thirds when scoring impressively at Bangor for owner Katya Banks. Given a fine ride by Conor Ring and on better ground Halifax did enough on the run-in to win his third race for us. Then yet another third for Connie’s at Bath, again a nice run. Ladypacksapunch ran arguably her best race since joining GHR when a great fourth in a much better race at Bath, a course that seems to suit her. At the same meeting Symbol of Hope came a good fifth in a hot race and remains very consistent. On the same day, The Cola Kid may only have finished seventh but ran a much, much better race than that would suggest. On better ground this lovely grey gelding will be back in the winner’s enclosure sooner rather than later. Halifax went to Worcester to try and follow up his win but the combination of softer ground and 12st found him out but it was still a creditable effort, he’s another that needs better ground. Justshortofabubble has developed into a consistent performer now, since his rise in the handicap though life has become a bit more difficult, but he still ran really well to finish second at Uttoxeter. This is our best year so far at GHR and we are looking to complete the final quarter of 2023 in strong form. I’m excited to see our jumpers back on the racecourse soon and our flat horses retain their form really well, both on the turf and the all-weather.Take care everyone!
